Apache Canada Ltd. Apache SCADA Upgrade 2003 - ongoing Upgrade of SCADA System, RTU's, and replacement of end devices / radios etc. SCADAPack RTU's, ADROIT SCADA Host, Freewave Radio Communications Tartan Engineering Ltd provided a scope of work and bid document, to allow Apache to bid for the supply of equipment to replace existing flow measurement, RTU's and SCADA system on 81 meter sites in the Hatton Area, a large shallow gas field. Upon selection of a hardware vendor, Tartan was hired to do the design, programming and project management of the $830K project. The project was successfully completed in 4 months on budget. Apache then hired Tartan to implement similar projects in other fields in Western Canada: Nevis Coal Bed Methane $450K; Consort Tight Viking Gas 2003 wells $600K; Hatton Phase 2 SCADA for $2,200K, which added additional meters and connected call out systems, compressor panels, fire and gas detection and shut down systems to the SCADA infrastructure. Production information is provided real-time in the Field and on the Web for Apache employees, updated every 10 minutes. Tartan has also developed cost estimates for additional Apache locations: Hawkeye area SCADA $2,800K, Brownfield area $1,800K, Consort Tight Viking Gas 2002 wells $600K, replace existing SCADA at Willesden Green $500K. These projects are in various stages of approval. 6,300 hrs. 4,000 hrs. |

Husky Energy Inc. Bivouac 2001 - Ongoing Grass Roots SCADA System CIMREX OPERATOR INTERFACE, SCADA Pack RTU's, Delta-V SCADA Host, MDS Licensed. Tartan completed the design, configuration and commissioning of an extensive SCADA System for a remote gas field in North Eastern British Columbia. Tartan was responsible for the project management, wellsite and facility design, RTU configuration, communications, and commissioning. Wellsite control, gas and liquid metering were performed by ScadaPack RTU's. Compressor control was performed by a REMVue 500 controller, with ability to remote start and control the compressor via the SCADA system. Each RTU is equipped with a local data display. The host was a Delta V HOST configured by others. The Delta V system communicates via licensed radios to these RTUs. In addition, the Delta V interfaces with a corporate production accounting system. Neles Automation Contra Costa, California, USA Contra Costa Water District SCADA Upgrade Project System Replacement Modicon PLC's, SCADAPack RTU's, Neles OASys SCADA Host Work included replacement of 72 existing RTU's with new RTU's. These RTU panels incorporated new MDS radios which replaced ( in some cases new ) the existing system. The RTU's communicate with an OASys Host via a point to point and point to multipoint system. Tartan provided a complete design and drawing package for the system. Tartan also provided all on site construction management and start-up and commissioning assistance for the RTU's. Tartan was responsible for electrical construction, which was sub-contracted to a local California electrical contractor. 6,000 hrs. 1,200 hrs. Commissioning |
