Established in Calgary in 1977, Tartan initially focused on simple oil and gas well site facilities including flow lines, manifolds, separators and basic treatment. Subsequently, the company has expanded to offer complete gas processing, heavy oil recovery, liquids fractionation, sour gas processing / sulphur recovery and multi-phase pipeline transportation services. As projects continued to grow in complexity and scale, Tartan developed integrated systems that provide the planning, estimating, cost control, project management and procurement capabilities required for larger projects.

Services provided over the years have included pure engineering, turn-key Engineering-Procurement-Construction ( EPC ) and Plant Contract Maintenance ( Oil and Gas and Pulp and Paper ). Most of Tartan's activities continue to be centered on the needs of the oil and gas producers and operators in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. Based on this experience, the company has an extensive record of handling oil, gas, fractionated or refined product and water or utility fluids in any combination sweet / sour, heavy / light, rich / lean, wet / dry, solid / liquid / vapour.

Although, Tartan specializes in oil and gas, petrochemical and pipeline projects, to a lesser but still significant degree, we have also had extensive experience in fresh water and power generating projects.
